These loans are backed by the Federal Housing Administration and are typically for individuals with less than perfect credit, have lower downpayment capabilities, or tighter monthly budgets. This program has traditionally been marketed as a "first time homebuyer program" however the reality is that anyone can qualify for it.
For the purchase, refinance, or renovation of any primary residence. This can be used for single family homes, duplexes, four-plexes, and single or double-wide manufactured homes.
This program provides financing for not only the purchase of a home but also the renovation/repair of a home by rolling those costs into one loan. Can finance things such as a new roof, a room addition, or a kitchen renovation. Or it can be used for things like painting and new appliances.
For those that would like to finance the costs of making their home more energy efficient then FHA has a financing program for that as well.
